Murray & Sullivan Room
Let’s get started planning your event!
Take the stuffiness out of a board meeting or book a team meeting in our Murray or Sullivan Rooms. Comfortably furnished with upholstered chairs and small tables, but complete with all of the tech hookups you might require, the two meeting spaces open into one large space for events, receptions, or to accommodate larger teams. If you don’t need that much space, the doors between the rooms can be closed. These spaces are also a great spot for guests to work or relax when they’re not in use. Ask and we can add in a bar for a small cocktail hour depending on the nature of your event.
Rain’s Room
Rain's Room is available for all guests to enjoy!
Named for Lorraine “Rain” Kane, the matriarch of our family of owners, Rain’s Room is one of our most comfortable and intimate guest spaces. With plenty of comfortable seating and a soothing color palette, this room is tucked away towards the back of the hotel, separate from the hustle and bustle of our lobby. This room can't be reserved for private events, but we hope you'll take some time to enjoy this special spot.
Quarter Deck
The Quarter Deck is a special spot for Hotel Guests to share a peaceful moment!
Welcome to one of the hotel’s best kept secrets, while a portion of our deck is open to the public, we also have a private access deck area just for our guests. Overlooking the harbor, sunrises and sunsets here can’t be beat—no matter the season. Indulge in a good book in one of our comfortable lounge chairs or clink glasses and say "Cheers" with some of your closest friends. This space feels remote and secluded from the rest of the downtown area. Enjoy the views and the salty ocean air along with one of the best views in Newport. This space can't be reserved for private events, but it will always welcome you and your guests warmly.
EVENT LOGISTICS
RENTALS
The Hammetts Hotel event spaces are built to be as flexible as possible. We recommend that event planners partner with a local rental company to choose the best tables, chairs, place settings, decor, and more for their event.
CATERING
A third-party caterer is required for all dining in the hotel spaces. Ask us for recommendations best suited for your event and we’d be more than happy to offer some wonderful local recommendations—our partners at Giusto are amazing!
KITCHEN
A catering kitchen is available for pre-arranged caterers to warm and serve only. More detailed specifications and information can be provided to you or your caterer by a member of our team as we learn more about your unique event.
OUTDOOR SPACES
Unfortunately, our outdoor spaces cannot accommodate a tent, but they do offer wonderful views. Our Patio West is covered by can only handle a smaller party or event. If you have any additional questions please reach out to us!
Group Blocks
HOW IT WORKS
Group blocks are offered midweek and on select weekend dates – every weekend is different. To secure a room block, a guarantor must determine the size of the block needed and provide credit card guarantee that the rooms will be used. In some cases, a small percentage of attrition can be negotiated. Group blocks may be
subject to a minimum number of nights, which may not be the same terms set forth for individual guests.
Rates are published on a rolling 12 months basis. Social groups will only be considered up to one year in advance.
TIPS FOR PLANNING
Wedding guests are encouraged to book early. Send hotel arrangements with the save the date and guests can book then with a flexible cancellation policy.
There are many options to create the perfect sized suite for celebrations.
